It’s generally a good sign when I’m quiet for a time as it means I’m getting close to a new release. June 1stRay Guns and Late Fees will be released to Amazon and hopefully Audible. As the third novel in Spaceship Mechanic series, we’re getting in deep to the things that make Rix Banner, Kel Warp, Philo and the rest of the crew fit together. I’m working on the marketing pitch for Amazon, and I’d love your feedback on the following paragraph!

Out in the lawless lanes where invoices go to die and “warranty” is more of a philosophical concept, Rix Banner and Kel Warp find themselves juggling pirates, salvage deals, and a shiny little problem called an illegal Starflare ray gun. In Ray Guns and Late Fees, a simple job spirals into a neon-lit scramble through nebula-drenched space, where boarding parties don’t knock and “late fees” might cost you a cargo pod… or your ship. Expect crackling firefights, questionable business decisions, and just enough duct-tape ingenuity to keep the Calypso flying one jump ahead of disaster. If you like your sci-fi with grit, humor, and a side of “this seemed like a good idea at the time,” this ride is already warming up the engines. 🚀

On the personal news front, things are busy around here. Cindy and I are getting married in a couple of weeks! Yay!! What you might not know is that Cindy recently had tendon surgery and is recovering. So, instead of having a big to-do while she’s learning how to use crutches, we decided on a small ceremony in April and then to have a big blowout later this year. I can’t wait to get married and almost as much, I can’t wait for Cindy to get mobile again so we can get back to adventuring!

Uncharacteristically, I haven’t come up with the title of the next Spaceship Mechanic book, but I guarantee that’s my next project. I think in our next adventure, Kel, Philo, Amari and Rix will head back to Earth and see what kind of trouble they can get into there.
