I need your help! I’m working on a project to record an audio production of Wizard in a Witchy World for Audible, iTunes and Amazon.
Below, there’s a poll where you can click on my favorites (we had 20 actors audition for this work). Please click on the links and listen to them. After you find your favorite, click on that button. You can actually vote a couple of times if you really want to specify more than one.
I’m really interested in a voice that fits with your understanding of Felix, but don’t focus on age. He could be telling these stories when he’s older. No matter what, vote your heart.
I’m sure you’ll agree with me that this is nearly impossible. The actors I’ve limited the field to are all amazing. Personally, I’d like choose every one of them, but that’s not how this works.
********** UPDATE 12/17/2016 ************
Thank you all for voting. It is remarkable how this always comes down so close. For me, Steve Barnett, James Cronin and Lou Lambert were definitely my top choices and you all have borne that out. I haven’t made an offer to any, just yet and will update this post once I do so. It is definitely down to these three.

I thought all the vocals were good and any would be okay! I just picked the ones that I prefer I’m sure others would prefer a couple others and they would be good too!
Hi Clyde –
It’s so hard to make a choice. They’re all very talented.
–Jamie
for me it has to be steve… hes got the range and the right amount of dramatic emphasis, not to heavy, not to light, deep and gritty enough for me to be entertained and gripped, hes got the right level of volume when shouting, his female accent for red is hilarious, in a good way.. a youthful voice thats pleasant on the ears…
I also enjoy Steve’s reading, Moo.
Jamie,
I am not sure you can make too big a mistake with any of the choices. All were competent. Any good marketing person will use surveys as a way to select timber, tone, and pitch preference for their listeners. Good move on your part, methinks.
By the way, thanks. You are inspiring me to finally publish a seemingly endless, science fiction, epic (about 180,000 words so far.) Self-publishing via Amazon looks fun. Consider yourself a role model. Please keep writing. I have enjoyed every one of your works so far.
Glenn Johnson
Hey Glenn – Is there any possibility you could split your book into two pieces? There is a lot of advantage in being able to discount the first to draw people into your universe. Readers like a free trial and it can be a good way to help people discover your awesome content. I also agree, the narrators all sound wonderfully professional. Ironically, I discovered a new series of books that I am enjoying because of a sample I listened to while auditioning these wonderful gentlemen. — Jamie
